With direct modeling, changes are made to models in a similar way to how changes are made to a text document or spreadsheet. Faces and edges are manipulated by moving them to new locations, extruding them, or removing them from the model. With SpaceClaim, the Structure panel contains the Structure tree, which shows you each of the objects in your design. Objects are displayed in the order in which they were created, or in the order in which they were imported.In a feature-based system, when sketches are changed, those changes then propagate through a standard feature tree.
